The Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Finance, Administration and Planning is concerned with matters relating to finance, administration, human capital and university assets and to ensure optimal use of the university resources. The office also oversees the development of policies and procedures in conformity with the Constitution of Kenya 2010, the Universities Act, the charter and any other written laws in Kenya and management of the University records for continuity of service delivery.
Currently headed by the Prof. Genevieve Mwayuli, the office oversees the operations of the following departments;
Finance Department
Finance Department is at the center of the University operations. Its Strategic objective is to improve financial sustainability through diversification of revenue streams and effective and efficient management of university resources.
The Department aims to provide high quality management information to support decision making and to provide efficient transaction services for students, staff and external stakeholders as well as to establish a reporting and control framework to support all the university’s financial activities. It executes risk assessments across key functions in operations, a process that helps in identifying and analyzing financial risks faced by the University
Administration Department
The Administration Department acts as the connecting link between the senior management and the employees. Office of the Registrar Administration is one of the key elements associated with high level of workplace productivity and efficiency.
It is the universal process of organizing people and resources efficiently so as to direct activities towards common goals and objectives. The department ensures that the set rules and regulations are followed by staff and develop policies and procedures and operations to ensure smooth running of the organization.
Main functions of the department is the general administration;
Planning Department
This section ensures strategic planning for the growth of the university. It ensures that the students are provided with a conducive learning environment that nurtures professional, holistic personal development and that that the institutional development is aligned to the established strategic plan. Currently the institution is implementing the strategic plan 2023-2027.

Welcome to the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs and Research at Great Lakes University of Kisumu. The Academic Division is one of the two top functional organs of the Great Lakes University of Kisumu headed by Deputy Vice Chancellors.
The Academic Division strives to meet all the demands of our internal and external customers to their satisfaction. Over the years, the Academic Division has continued to be the driving force in the efficient and effective management of academic programmes. Our emphasis has been on market driven programmes and involvement of all stakeholders in development of new programmes. Our focus is to ensure the University remains a global University committed to scholarly excellence.
In the process of providing leadership in high-level manpower training, the Academic Division has a crucial role in meeting the dynamic needs of various players in the academic arena. Our commitment is in developing managers and leaders who use global solutions to solve local problems.
